The Blessed Peace of Jesus Christ,
We cannot do without.
The Mighty Grace of our Dear Lord,
We surely do not doubt.
The Gospel Faith is near and true,
Of this we know about.
But few things else can ever match
The Joy of Paying Out.

We struggled through the many months,
We scrimped and saved and paid,
Those very many apportionments,
We focused on each day.
While preaching through God’s Holy Word,
And visiting the sick,
I bent the knee and heavenward,
I prayed to God in fits.

“Almighty God I thank You now,
For the blessings of Your love.
For I am easy to astound
With Your Grace on this low one.
But now, O God, I come to beg
And plead and pray and cry
Please let our full apportionments
Be paid out by and by!”
